The City of Plantation has provided a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) notice regarding the upcoming transition of the Plantation Acres Improvement District (P.A.I.D.).

Effective October 1, 2026, P.A.I.D. will operate as a dependent special district of the City of Plantation. P.A.I.D. will continue to exist as the District, and the City’s goal is to provide residents, property owners, contractors, and permit applicants with a smooth and orderly transition while minimizing interruptions to stormwater operations, maintenance, permitting, inspections, and ongoing projects.

The City’s FAQ provides important information regarding administration and governance, stormwater operations and emergency response, canal and pump station maintenance, existing and pending permits, engineering and drainage reviews, and new permit applications after October 1.

Residents and property owners are encouraged to review the attached FAQ carefully, particularly if they have an active permit, pending application, drainage or stormwater concern, or ongoing project. Existing P.A.I.D. permits and documented approvals will not become invalid solely because of the transition, and pending applications will be transitioned into the City’s administrative process.

Beginning October 1, new permit applications should be submitted through the applicable City of Plantation permitting process, with the City coordinating any P.A.I.D. engineering or drainage review that remains applicable.
